Sustainability with Repack

Repack is committed to building a tangible circular economy model that reduces environmental impact and improves production efficiency, providing its business partners with tools to enhance their sustainability performance. Through the recovery, transformation, and reconditioning of industrial packaging, we give new life to existing resources, avoiding waste and promoting a truly sustainable, circular production system.

Repack’s commitment to sustainability also includes the use of renewable energy in its production activities. In fact, our plants operate using energy that is largely self-produced and 100% sourced from renewable resources, significantly reducing CO₂ emissions linked to production.

Repack aligns with the European Commission’s objectives to make all packaging reusable or recyclable in an economically sustainable way by 2030. Reducing waste generation and environmental impact is a shared challenge, and our reconditioning and recycling model fits perfectly into this vision.

The Core of Our Model

Traditional economy follows a linear model of production and consumption: we extract resources from the Earth, use them, and eventually dispose of them—creating waste.

This approach is no longer sustainable. Repack promotes a transition to a circular model, where materials are recovered, reconditioned, and recycled—reducing both waste and environmental impact.

From the Linear System...

A production model based on the consumption of finite resources and the generation of waste...

...to the Circular Model

A new vision in which every material re-enters the economy after use, minimizing waste and environmental impact.

LCA: Measuring Sustainability

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is the most advanced tool for measuring the environmental impact of a product throughout its life cycle—from raw material extraction to final disposal. Repack has conducted an LCA study on its reconditioned and recycled packaging, demonstrating that reuse and recycling significantly reduce CO₂ emissions and energy consumption compared to the production of new packaging.

Repack’s LCA study complies with international standards UNI EN ISO 14040:2021 and UNI EN ISO 14044:2021, certifying with concrete data the environmental benefits of regenerated and recycled solutions.

Thanks to LCA certification, our clients can rely on measurable and transparent solutions to reduce their environmental footprint. The LCA data provided by Repack is a valuable asset for companies seeking to improve their sustainability reports and meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Innovation for a Sustainable Future

Our commitment to sustainability goes beyond recovery: Repack is one of only 65 facilities in Italy certified Second Life Plastic according to the UNI 10667-2:2010 standard—a recognition that confirms the quality and traceability of our recycling process.

This certification enables us to transform plastic waste into certified, reusable raw materials and into new packaging made from 100% recycled materials produced in-house—offering clients a certified, measurable circular economy model.

Through an advanced system for enhancing secondary raw materials (SRM), recycled HDPE is extracted from industrial plastic waste and used to produce new 100% recycled Repack drums.

This process allows waste producers to reuse their own waste to source reconditioned containers, reducing virgin plastic use, emissions, and energy consumption. A concrete circular model where sustainability becomes a competitive advantage for companies.

The Circular Nature of Repack’s Service

At Repack, packaging recovery and recycling follow a tracked and certified process. Every container is collected, regenerated, or recycled to create new sustainable products.
